The observations of an itinerant dish-pig – aka “How to be a help, not a hinderance in the kitchen”. A class for all interested in the inner workings of a feast kitchen, considering the topics of planning, budgeting, volunteer management, and cleanup. This class will be a combination of teaching, and an open discussion portion.

Dressing your young Raider – a guide to children’s garb and dressing your young nobles for any SCA event. This class is limited to 8 participants.

Throwing weapons at targets. We’re not just heavy, rapier, and archery anymore! Vent your frustrations by learning to safely throw axes and knives at targets (nonhuman, non-moving targets for legal reasons). Please bring any throwing knives you have for safety inspection before throwing, although weapons will be supplied.

Embroidery for the heavy fighter, and nobles not borne with a needle in hand. A beginners guide to embroidery techniques, useful for everything from favours for your fighter or inspiration, to taking your garb to the next level in a few easy stitches. Materials provided, however please bring along any projects you would like to work on / be advised on.

Body Shapes and Optical Illusions
The idea of the most aesthetically pleasing body shape has varied wildly through time and across gender in ways that sometimes surprise the modern eye. For just as long people have been using optical illusion in clothing design to give the impression of their preferred body shape. Come and see some practical (and sometimes surprisingly easy) ways to play up or down your natural features to suit your preference or just for fun. This class is emphatically body positive and trans friendly how you look now and how you’d like to look are both 100% OK.

A hands-on workshop for the process of natural dying your fibres with woad – a most enchanting shade of blue. Feel free to bring your own fabric or yarn (natural fibres) to put in the dye pot!
